Tasked with telling a shared history marked by conflict, complexity and contradiction, Barker Langham worked with the European Parliament to shape the storytelling and scriptwriting for the House of European History in Brussels. The project combined inclusive historiography with a multilingual strategy spanning 24 languages–ensuring meaning was preserved while holding space for multiple perspectives on a contested past. Our work extended to scripting audiovisual installations and co-authoring exhibition catalogues, as well as contributing to temporary exhibitions such as Restless Youth and Throwaway, reflecting the museum’s commitment to relevance and renewal.
